Apple Crumble

APPLE CRUMBLE

A traditional American Desert with my touch added to it. Very easy to make and for those people who love baked fruit and Ice-cream to go with it.

Traditionally this desert requires a oven to make and bake but i have managed to make it in the microwave and given it a twist to it.

For the Filling

Apples sliced thinly
Brown Sugar (not the drug that gives u a high) but also known as Demerara sugar (Blue Bird Brand) is easily available in the stores and is basically unprocessed sugar. this give a fantastic colour to the Desert.
Juice of 1 Lemon
Cinnamon Powder

For the Crumble

Butter
Salt
Maida
Brown Sugar
Cinnamon Powder.

Method

Cut Apple slices and place in a bowl, pour the lemon juice over it so they do not discolour, add the brown sugar and cinnamon powder and mix well, grease a microwave proof dish and layer the apples and microwave on high for 3 minutes.

In another bowl mix maida, salt and butter and rub the butter in the maida till it resembles bread crumbs, add the brown sugar and cinnamon powder to this mixture and layer it on the top of the microwaved apples, press it strongly and then microwave for 7 minutes till the crumble mixture is cooked.

Serve immediately and piping hot with a scoop of Vanilla Icecream.
